Alumni Couple Pays it Forward with Bequest

Alumni Couple Pays it Forward with Bequest
Doug and Stephanie Dickman

Randy '84 and Carol '82 Kozlowski met as students at SUNY Geneseo and have since made Geneseo their home. With their recent bequest to the college they are helping to ensure the experiences they had will be available to future generations.

"My wife and I are Geneseo graduates and make our home in the Genesee Valley," Randy says. "We are part of the Genesee Valley community of which the college is such a big part. We're proud of our degrees and the time we spent at Geneseo. We wanted to give back to Geneseo and we hope future generations can grow and experience the Geneseo education and lifestyle."

Randy says including Geneseo as a beneficiary in their wills was easy. "It was part of the estate planning process that my wife and I went through. It didn't take much time at all and we had a strong sense that this made sense for future Geneseo students. If we can help one individual enjoy the same experience that we had at Geneseo then my bequest will be worth it."

For Randy, supporting the men's hockey team was an easy decision. "I was fortunate enough to be a member of the Geneseo Ice Knights for all four years at Geneseo. The lifelong friendships and the alumni relationships of being an Ice Knight are very strong and lasting. The hockey team is not only an important part of the college, but also the community of Geneseo. It's important that funds are available to allow our student athletes to be competitive, have the right equipment, facilities, support and opportunities to be successful at the highest levels."
