Barbara Bilodeau ’86 Combines Current Giving with Bequest

Geneseo holds a special place in the heart of Barbara Bilodeau '86. "The quality of the professors and the wide variety of extracurricular activities provided me with the opportunity to grow my academic, social and leadership skills," Barbara says. That's why she decided to include a gift to Geneseo in her will.

Her bequest will increase the endowment she previously established and funded for the Department of Political Science. "I have very fond memories of activities I did with that group when I was in college and I really like what Professor Koch and his colleagues are doing with the department today."

Barbara's estate gift is split between Political Science and the Fund for Geneseo. "It's an incredibly challenging time for public universities like Geneseo. Unrestricted giving is especially important as it provides the college the opportunity to use the money in the way that will have the most impact - whether it's scholarships or something else."

Behind her philanthropy and her service as a volunteer member of the Geneseo Foundation Board of Directors stands a desire to give back. "I want to ensure today's students have the same opportunities that I had."
